Quoting my 3rd cousin Morgaine Beck, "This is the SS Switzerland, the 3 ton, 3 masted, 329' x 38' ship that brought my 10 original Welter ancestors from Luxembourg to America. It sailed from Antwerp, Belgium into New York City harbor on April 5, 1882. I have goosebumps just thinking about all the emotions that journey must have brought.  My GGGrandfather Martin Welter became a U.S. citizen on December 13, 1889..."
